PalmSHIELD Announces New Cable Railing

PalmSHIELD is very excited to announce their brand new exclusive architectural cable design. This design is an architectural marvel for cable railing. PalmSHIELD uses a single cable design in which the cable is attached at the top of the panel and then strung back and forth over a series of spools to a single tensioner at the bottom. Compared to the traditional style, this much cleaner and much more interesting looking. It has a real contemporary look for installations that require more than just a simple cable railing.

Better Looking Cable Railing

For nearly 20 years, PalmSHIELD has been fabricating industrial fencing, so they know a thing or two about cable railing. They know that over time many cable rail installations fail due to the incredible amount of strain placed on the cable because they are attached to the termination posts. Now, imagine 11 cables, each tensioned to several hundreds of pounds of pull, pulling on one 2” square post screwed down to the top of a soft cedar deck board. If you happen to be a cable rail installer, you are cringing a little bit right now because you know what is going to happen next. System failure! At PalmSHIELD, they use their traditional fully-framed panels. Each panel has its own independent cable infill not reliant on site post installations.

Each panel comes complete with fully installed cables and predrilled posts and panels, making installation quick and easy. A traditional deck railing has at least four to five independent field installed cable runs. Traditional installations would take several days between anchoring posts and implementing almost a hundred tensioners. A deck railing would take less than a day and without any worries about failed posts with the PalmSHIELD system.

PalmSHIELD cable panels are designed to go with code compliant handicap ramp run rails and stair grab rails. Stair sections are also custom fabricated to account for landings. PalmSHIELD uses a cable stabilizer bar in the panels to support the cables along long sections. With changes in slope, a stabilizer bar will support the cables without the use of any additional posts.

The PalmSHIELD cable railing system is perfect if you are looking for the advantages of a cable railing but you want something more modern and upscale. Visit www.palmshieldlouvers.com for more information.
